Writing Poetry on Loneliness

Sometimes, I feel as though all
of my friends are Emily Dickinson,
and I am the only one who is not a
virtual recluse in my father's home,
writing poetry on loneliness and lost
love. This may or may not be true,
but still, I wish there was something
I could do. I have long since learned
that one cannot dwell on one moment
forever. People, places, and objects
can enter into our lives and leave
just as quickly as they arrived. The
ones that stayed are the ones that
are meant to stay, and the ones that
do not are meant to be forgotten.

Mine Alone - Have my Soul I cannot rid her from my thoughts.
Since the moment we met, she has circulated inside my mind.
I met her as a beautiful young teenage girl, and she blossomed before my very eyes into an irresistible woman.
Through the long years we were apart, I have felt her presence with me.
I must stop myself from anticipating, every time the barriers are broken down, it will be her I am called to greet.
Thrice, this has happened.
I feel as though I am entitled to more, at least once more.
I certainly enjoyed making the one who broke her heart suffer.
Not only was jealous rage my motivation, but the rage directed toward their treatment of her.
